US stock market hours
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq are open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET). Many brokers also offer pre-market trading from 4:00 a.m. and after-hours trading until 8:00 p.m. ET, usually with lower volume and wider spreads.
On some days before or after holidays, the market closes early at 1:00 p.m. ET. Your local times change twice a year, because the US and many other countries switch to and from daylight saving time on different dates. This page always uses the current rules for both.
